Tell us about your business and how it started.
Smash Cow is run by husband-and-wife team, who have been catering entrepreneurs since 2018 when they started their food truck - The Pork Shack, serving up loaded fries and rice bowls at music festivals, foodie events and private catering in and around Oxfordshire. During COVID the couple had to adapt and change their business model to a takeaway service, after the success of the takeaway they then opened Smash Cow in 2021, which has a loyal following.
What will people find when they visit you at Lock29?
Customers who visit Smash Cow can expect great customer service as well as the best quality ingredients. Our burgers are different from your everyday burger because they are SMASH burgers, we smash our patties on the grill to add extra caramelisation to your burger, we think it’s delicious and the best way to have a burger. Our patties are from an independent award-winning butcher in Yorkshire, all their cows are grass fed and free range, our patties are a blend of different beef cuts and dry aged beef fat, which enhances the flavour when on the griddle. We are proud to say we make most of our sauces in-house with our own recipes. Our brownies are hand-made by our owner Dan who is a trained pastry chef.
What do you recommend people buy from you to get a real flavour for your business?
The go to order at Smash Cow would be a Cheeseburger or a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, depending on your appetite, with those you get to taste all the best bits including our homemade burger sauce.

The best part of being in Lock29 is the community feel between all the traders and the Lock29 team.
Outside of work, tell us a little bit about yourself? What do you like to do when not at Lock29?
When we’re not in Lock29 we’re usually working in our event business, making brownies, slicing pickles, or playing with our Mini-Labradoodle, Truffle.
