Lock29 celebrates growth of local businesses

Lock29 - Banbury's vibrant waterfront destination at Castle Quay, is thrilled to announce expansions for two of its popular independent businesses, AJ’s Grub Hub and D’Moodz Caribbean Cuisine. This growth underscores Lock29's mission to support local entrepreneurs and enhance the community's experience with unique food and shopping options.

AJ’s Grub Hub, initially launched in July 2024 with an outdoor trailer, now secures a permanent space inside Lock29, expanding its popular food offerings and give Lock29 visitors an even wider choice of delicious food, whatever the weather.

Owner of AJs Grub Hub Adrian Brind, says; "When I was offered a unit inside, I was overwhelmed with joy! This move has given me an incredible opportunity to grow and expand my business. I am now offering my signature Mexican dishes, including burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and rice bowls. Of course, my popular breakfast items, jacket potatoes, baguettes, and kids' box meals (all under £5!) are still on the menu.

The support at Lock29 has been amazing. The staff are always willing to lend a hand, and my experience here so far has been nothing but positive. I’m excited for this next step in my journey and can’t wait to continue growing within the Lock29 community."

D’Moodz Caribbean Cuisine joined Lock29 in February 2023, and after a hugely successful start has taken on a more prominent space, which opens on Wednesday 30th October. Owned by Tavon Joseph, it serves up firm favourites like chickpea curry, fried chicken, curry goat, and jerk chicken.

The moves are a testament to the support that Lock29 has given independent traders to thrive in Banbury. Lock29 Manager Stuart McGregor says "We are delighted that these moves are able to happen within Lock29. Adrian started his business with us over the summer months outside by the canal and moving him into a permanent unit within Lock29 will allow his business to grow and develop.

Tavon has been with us for almost 2 years and has seen the benefits of operating within Lock29. Over this period his business has gone from strength to strength. The move into a larger unit will allow him the opportunity to further grow and develop his business.
Both the moves are a great success story for Lock29, where new, independent businesses are given the opportunity to grow and develop so we are incredibly excited for both Adrian and Tavon and what the future holds for both."
